VOCABULARY

UNIT 1

-Warm = it´s a good idea to have something warm

- borrow = you could borrow your dad´s

- kind of = yeah kind of. But i still have a lot to do!

- expensive = is it expensive to visit your country?

- cheap = well, it´s hard to find cheap hotels.

- phrase = i need to get a phrase book to learn some expressions.

- bargains = is it easy to find bargains online?

- rainy = you should bring lots of books and board games for rainy days.

- ladder = wear flat shoes so you can climb the ladder to your room

- binoculars = it´s good idea to have some binoculars to watch the dolphins.

UNIT 2

- Rug: The rug in the middle in nice 

- Stuff: There is so much stuff in here?

- Bathing Suit: Is this your bathing suit?

- Weird Taste: She has such weird taste

- Awful: Look at these awful earrings

- Bought: I bought them for you

- Wallet: Whose wallet is this?

- Faucet: We couldn´t use the faucet bacause it was out of orden.

- Cushions: The cushions on the sofa don´t match those on the armchairs

- stove: I bid ten dollars for the old stove

UNIT 3

- Chest: I have a chest pain.

- Thumb: He accidentally hit his thumb with the hammer.

- Elbow: The elbow is the joint between the arm and forearm 

- Neck: The girl has a scarf around her neck

- Ankle: Tom sprained his ankle

- Toe: Somethings bit me on  my toe 

- Knee: His Knee turned a ghastly blackish purple from the swelling.

- Finger Keep your fingers croseed

- Tongue: I just bit my tongue
- Shoulder: Father laid his hand on my shoulder.
UNIT 4:
- Worse: peor - There´s nothing worse than spam when you´re really busy
- Junk: chatarra - Spam is worse than regular junk mail.
- Cheaper: más barato
- Quicker:  más rápido - It´s quicker and easier than anything else.
- Suvey: encuesta - Listen to the responses to he survey.

- Above: anterior - Do you agree with the sentences above?

- Wrong: incorrecto - I have the wrong number.

- Ahold: localizar - Finally! It’s hard to get Ahold of you

- Fewer: menos - You get fewer calls than I do

- Twin: gemelo - What does your twin sister look like,

-  Curly: rizado - So does she have curly black hair like you?

- Straight: derecho - No, She’s got straight blond hair and blue eyes

- Thinner: más delgada - And she is thinner than my, too

- Anyone: nadie - Thoes anyone have very long hair?

- Stress;  estrés -  Notice how the stress and intonation are different in the checking question

- Roommates: compañero de habitación -  Find Rosa’s roommates and Rosa is brother in the picture.

- Weird: extraño - He looks kind of weird.

- Skirt: falda - She’s the short one wearing the skirt

- Baggy: holgado - He always wore those baggy pants with all the pockets.                                                     UNIT 6:

-  Degree: grado - Are you going to study for a degree or certifícate?

- Able: poder -  Do you think you’ll be able to take a vacation next summer?

- Abroad: extranjero -  Are you going to travel abroad in the next couple of years?

- Rich: rico - Do you think you’ll ever be rich or famous?

- Rewarding: premiar - Has a rewarding job?

- Disappointed: decepcionado - My parents will be disappointed.

- Lawyers: abogados - They’re both lawyers.

- Forward: adelante - I’m really looking forward to the picnic tomorrow.

- Stuff: esas cosas - Ok. So, I’ll buy some sándwiches and potato salad and stuff.
